Meiner Meinung nach eines der größten Songs von Alphaville, einfach weil dieser Titel der Welt noch gefehlt hat. Es gibt so viel Musik, so viel Songtexte und Gesang, aber nur wenige treffen den jeweiligen Punkt als Gesamtkunstwerk aus Text, Instrumenten und Harmonie so wie dieses Stück. Es gibt nichts Vergleichbares zu „Forever Young„, kein weiteres Lied, das die „ewige Jugend“ so thematisiert und rüberbringt. Im Wust von unzähligen Liedern über Liebe, Freundschaft oder Saufen taucht manchmal eines auf, das unverhofft ganz anders ist und irgendwie einen Moment, ein Gefühl oder nur einen Gedanken perfekt beschreibt. Ganz im Sinne von z.B. „Let it be“ von den Beatles oder „We are the Champions“ von Queen… dieses ist eines davon.
